DO YOU WANT TO MAKE LIFESTYLE AND EATING CHANGES? Are you on the treadmill of grabbing fast food, eating out, working, running the children here and there, eating out, leave work, and eat out? Are you tired of being tired? Three weeks ago Judson Baptist had a Women’s Fit Camp. If I could sum it up in one word I would say “CONVICTING.” Here are some bullet points to consider in making changes to your life as well as your families.
- Reset your metabolism but how? I don’t have any more hours in the day to add more exercise, plus I don’t want to, and I don’t want to count calories. Fuel your body differently and make it more fuel efficient.
- Eating 6 times a day instead of 3 meals
- A “complete thought” in eating every meal. It would include: fruit, vegetables, and meat. For instance a morning smoothie that would be considered a “complete thought “ meal: Blend together 1 scoop Whey (I use Six Star Muslcletech from Krogers-$22.99), a small handful of spinach (you will not taste this in your smoothie), 1 tsp. of all natural peanut butter, fruit (whatever you desire-strawberries, banana, blueberries) -just throw some in, and 12 to 16 oz. of water. Skip the ice…and mix it up.
A “complete thought” mid morning would be a piece of fruit (apple, orange, etc.), 1/4 cup of nuts (almonds or pistacheo, etc…), & protein (protein bar, small piece of meat, etc) A “complete thought” lunch would be 1 cup of brown rice/black beans mix, small salad greens with a cup apple and orange slices in the salad with balsamic vinagerette A “complete thougth” afternoon snack an a “complete thought” dinner - Get yourself a soft cooler that you can and will carry along with ice bags kept in freezer
- A couple of hours preparing in the kitchen for the week lets you grab and go without waiting to make decisions when you are hungry. Measure out individual servings in tupperware. Wash and cut your vegetables and fruits up and bag them or put them in individual tupperware so you will actually eat them.
- Be reminded that God wants the very best for you. Does the way you are eating reflect that?
- Load your cooler in the morning, right after you wake up, so you will have it ready to walk out the door. I even take it now with me on Sunday’s to church.
It’s been 3 weeks since the Fit Camp with lots of time to put in to practice things taught. Advise to those starting out is that even if you make changes for the better 50% of the time you are 1/2 way there. Every day there are decsions to be made so if you can eliminate your food choices because of what’s in your cooler you have time to work on other things.
